Prinz.Anderson.Ruff

My awesome family by which I'm reminded
daily via the lyrics of U2.

Grace
She carries a world on her hips
No champagne flute for her lips
No twirls or skips
Between her fingertips

Kite
The last of the rocks stars
When hip-hop drove the big cars
In the time when new media
Was the big idea
What was the big idea

Luminous Times
Hey...sister love Hey...seems so bright
She comes like carnival She is the big wheel
She turned my head around turned my head around.

 Walk On
All that you fashion, all that you make
All that you build, all that you break
All that you measure, all that you feel
All this you can leave behind.

If God Will Send His Angels
Jesus never let me down
You know Jesus used to show me the score
Then they put Jesus in show business
Now it's hard to get in the door.

 In a Little While
Slow down my bleeding heart
A man dreams one day to fly
A man takes a rocket ship into the skies
He lives on star that's dying in the night
And follows in the trail
The scatter of light.
 All Because of You
I was born a child of grace
Nothing else about the place
Everything was ugly but your beautiful face
And it left me no illusion

 Magnificent
I was born, I was born to sing for you
I didn't have a choice but to lift you up

 Yahweh
Take these hands, Teach them what to carry
Take these hands, Don't make a fist
Take this mouth, So quick to criticize
Take this mouth,Give it a kiss.

Red Light
Oh, love...
I pour my love out for you
And I'll bring you through
See your not alone.

For my Sister

August 8, 1991

Wow, our lives really changed that day. I've never felt so scared as when I saw you in a coma in the ICU, with your head shaved and your body covered with tubes. I remember sitting, holding your hand, talking to you as you lay so still. I believed that you could hear me somehow. Maybe you did and that helped you get stronger. Sometimes it all seems like a dream? I wanted to take your place in that hospital. But you were so brave, and you were filled with courage and I remember thinking, "I could never be as strong as Jonathan, if this had happened to me I wouldn't have survived." I remember talking to you into brain surgery when you were still in your coma. Dad, mom and I prayed for you and I saw tears slip down your cheek because you were so scared. I felt so helpless and afraid, but you were a fighter, and you came out of your coma and got stronger little by little. You never complained about your situation. You have such strong character.

Which comes First

Our lives are so busy and sometimes we live so far from our families. We miss the relationships with our families and often we do not even share important life events with them. We need to move back towards our families. If not in actual distance then at least we must move closer in our hearts. We live in a time where there are unprecedented communication possibilities. No one will ever love us unconditionally like our family can. We'd be fools not to take advantage of this opportunity.

Lamenting Life

But you and I now

We can be alright

Bombshell

I'm torn tonight, more than I have ever been in the past 2.5 years.
It is true that we are all betrayed by people in our life, but some examples are few and far between what others experience through their lives. I have been unaware and not informed about things in my life that are very pertinent with my maturation in life. They all knew it and I was blinded by the life. Blinded by a person that I thought did so much for everyone with his words and guidance in life. I have had plenty of people tell me that it was your choice, just deal with it. But no, that's not it. You haven't talked with me in almost a year now. Your life choice is now your life. I have said that I will keep praying for you, but just posting that you are an evangelical christian on your facebook doesn't do it for me. Man we've been through a bunch as a family and to hear what I heard tonight makes me more than sad..... it makes me disappointed. Piecing together my relationship for the past 15 or so years, within the last 5 months is tearing me apart. It would have been better if I was there with your other son to feel the shame he endured. You know I really feel left out on my Father's life. I should not feel that way. It's usually the other way around right. The estranged parent missing out on their son or daughters life because of life's misfortunes. Before typing this out I began writing out the words that came directly to my head. I've already been reminded tonight by one of my close friends in AZ that he has always been impressed by my control of my language, so I will refrain from the words that were typed out. I am just very disappointed with my 63 year old Father. Talking the life and living the life has never been included within a double life. So much to get out. Yes, so much however I will never get that chance. 1, even two was the extent that I thought. Hundreds makes my heart cry out Yahweh.

Happy Halloween

Halloween has always been a hit or miss holiday for me throughout my life.

When I was young we were unable to celebrate the fun time of trick or treating and dressing up because I remember being told that it was the devils holiday. I really didn't understand what

that meant because I was so young, I

just wanted to dress up and get candy. My sister Susannah and I used to plop ourselves on the couch in front of the living room window and watch kids walk up to our front door, just to be shoo'd off by an unanswered door.

Upon moving to CA, my parents softened their stance a bit and let us trick or treat locally. Maybe this memory is why I enjoy dressing up every once and a while for fun.

Better yet my siblings have been equally involved in the costume rumpus. I think it let's you get out some hidden laughter once or twice, or maybe even more while you have some fun.

This year I don't think I will have time to participate with work and all, however here's to a great Halloween 2010 and all of the great costumes out there.
