Wow.......

The Door To Hell

That's a crater in the middle of Derweze, which is a village in Turkmenistan. And it's on fire. It's been on fire for 40 years.

Here is the Wikipedia page; there's not a ton of information, but I guess enough to give context. In 1971, this crater formed while some people were drilling, and they realized that methane was emanating from it. Geologists decided that burning the gas would be less dangerous than letting it permeate the atmosphere, and figured that it would burn out in a matter of hours. It's still burning.

I immediately put the town's name into Search engine, because this is exactly the sort of thing that would be posted in there. And, you know what, not really. Why don't more people talk about this thing?

Check out some more pictures on Flickr.

Hardness it sets in

Sometimes its difficult to set apart the things in my life that are hard and other parts that I just tend to ignore. For instance when I come across pictures that are from my past in which strike a chord in me emotionally. Or when I hear of things that are going on presently that are just entirely mind baffling. I use this blogspot to bleed my ideas, share my positive points in life, and really just mature emotionally. It baffles me how I am growing up and maturing as others are decreasing in maturity and seem to be emotionally losing years. Sometimes, I feel that this was a good thing for me to take a break and really see where I need to be in my life in order to move forward. As I watch this video, I am remembering that I was asked not to have a U2 song as my first song at my wedding. I know it is totally off subject, but I have always felt that was a problem. I lean towards music when I am have a terrible day, week, year. As I look back at it it could have been a sign or just that really needed that song for a boost as I need it today. Trust me, if I ever hit that point in my life again where I am choosing a first song, I will speak up and make sure it's played. This blog today is just a modge podge of feelings as I get ready for work, but it's been on my mind for a while. So here's to growing up, maturing, listening to and playing U2 as often as possible.

Growth with a side of Cheeseburger

When I begin to paint, I don't know what I am going
to put on the canvas. I look at the person I am creating for
and I try to best emulate what he or she represent with the oil
I am laying out for them.

The years or months or days that I know my "friends"
depicts how much information I am able to indulge into
their masterpiece (they always are in my eyes). I am able to grow
with each canvas that I complete, both artistically and emotionally
as I begin this awesome stage in my life. I love these paintings and their
meanings. In my eyes, it is a major maturation point in my life, thought process.

On a side note.
Please check out Five Guys an amazing hamburger joint
located newly in the east bay. Awesome burgers, with a choice
of additions cooked with your burger. My tummy was happy yesterday.
Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Some great times in 2011 so far........

I've had a resurgence of faith and
hope and peace within me
so far in the year 2011.

My friends are awesome.
I couldn't make my life be as sane and likable
without them by my side.
They are spread throughout the country
but I thank each and every one of you for your love.

It's been a tough start to 2011 for different reasons.
I guess I needed to grow up at some point in my life.
Boy, did I do that. At least I think I think I took a huge step in
accomplishing that.

I enjoy inspiration. Few and far between, I don't discriminate.
I enjoy the inspiration however it comes.

Smiles get me through the week, even that sounds creepy, but it's true.

Did I mention that I love my friends. They support
me in every way. It makes my heart happy.

I love the new addition to my family. It came at a perfect time
so that our family could rejoice in awesome times.

on a side note.......
Did I mention that I love sunglasses and Golf.
They go really well together

I enjoy painting and putting my thoughts and ideas on Canvas.
I grow with each piece that I complete.

I love my smile.
Its gotten me through all my B.S. that I've been through...

By the way I've come to love happy hour.
Like I said I don't discriminate.

Art is passion.
I've finally figured why my sisters heart is at peace
when in the studio. I am at peace when creating for others.

Branching out is my new goal. Opening up to
whatever is out there.

Here's to more of the smiles in 2011.
Thanks for the good times everyone.
I needed it.
